Day 01

Colombo – Home Stay -Kalutara
(Travel time – about 2 hours, distance – 130 km)

Welcome to Sri Lanka and experience the local life! You will be warmly greeted at the Airport from your local guide. From there you will be driven to the west coast of Sri Lanka. Check into your family pension. Together with your hostess you will visit a local market and purchase ingredients for your dinner. Experience the variety of spices and vegetables. In the evening you will join a cooking class. Learn how to cook Rice and Curry which is the main dish in Sri Lanka. Afterwards enjoy a delicious dinner and relax at your pension.

 

Day 02

Kalutara – Balapitiya – Galle -Yala
Kalutara – Balapitiya (Travel time – about 1 hour, distance – 40 km)
Balapitiya – Galle (Travel time – about 1 hour, distance – 40 km)
Galle – Yala (Travel time – about 2 hour, distance – 80 km)

Today your journey continues to the Yala National Park. On the way you will go for an amazing boat ride at the Madu River. How many monkeys and other animals can you spot!!? Then continue your journey. On the way visit of the Galle Fort, which is one the most recognizable sights in the south of Sri Lanka. No visit to the south will be complete without seeing this impressive architectural masterpiece, built by the Dutch during the 17th century. It was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1988 for its architectural and historical significance. Although this complex is now lined with designer stores, chic restaurants and cafes, it continues to maintain its traditional charm. Visit the nearby Dutch Museum and the Dutch Church. Afterwards continue to Yala and check in to your luxury tree house and time to relax and listen to different sounds of the jungle. At night you will go for an amazing night Safari at the surroundings of the Yala National Park. You might spot, owls, leopards, elephants and other animals. Don’t forget you night scope!!

 

Day 03

Yala

In the morning you will meet a local fisherman and go for a fishing trip on the Kirinda River. Here you will practice some traditional methods of fishing. Afterwards your catch will be prepared at the fisherman’s village in a traditional way. Enjoy an unforgettable lunch. In the afternoon make a Jeep Safari at the Yala National Park. The Yala National Park is the largest in Sri Lanka with approximately 1,259 km². The park is home to many elephants, wild boars, leopards, bears, roe deer and crocodiles. Large swarms of migratory birds, as well as native birds. Return to hotel and time to relax

 

Day 04

Yala – Ella (Travel time – about 3 hours 30 minutes, distance – 145 km)

After breakfast you will drive to Ella. On the way visit the Ravana waterfall.The waterfall lies on a cliff at an altitude of almost 1,370 meters. According to an ancient Hindu mythology, the demon king Ravana once lived there and drove his misery in the hills sourrounded by the waterfall. If you like you can enjoy a refreshing bath. Then check into your hotel at Ella and enjoy a free afternoon. Visit one of the many pubs and restaurants at Ella.

 

Day 05

Horton Plains – Teefabrik

Get your packed breakfast in the early morning and leave to visit Horton Plains national park situated in Ohiya. It’s a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by montane grassland and cloud forest. It’s a beautiful and strange world with some excellent hikes which includes the Sri Lanka’s second highest mountain, Kirigalpoththa. Better known as the “World’s End” on a nature trail. Variety of birds & butterfly life, flora & fauna etc. could be seen. Early morning (between 6.00am to 10.00am) is the best time to visit before the below villages and valley covered in clouds. In the afternoon you will visit a tea factory and learn how the Ceylon Tea is plugged and manufactured. Enjoy a cup freshly brewed tea. Then return to hotel and time on leisure.

 

Day 06

Ella – Kandy
(Travel time – about 4 hours distance – 155 km)

At 10.50 a.m., take the train to Nanu Oya and enjoy the jaw-dropping scenery on the way. You will ride an air-conditioned car for the 3-hour journey. A snack will be served on board. Upon arrival, your driver will pick you up from your train station and transfer you to Nuwara Eliya, a beautiful colonial town with the charm of an English village. Enjoy the mild temperature and visit the lovely Victoria Park and stroll around the scenic Gregorys Lake. Then, drive to Kandy with photogenic stops at the Ramboda waterfall and Kothmale reservoir. Upon arrival in Kandy, go on a tour to discover the historical city which served as the capital of the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth, stroll around the Kandy Lake and stop by a vibrant vegetable market. Transfer to your guesthouse situated by the beautiful Mahaweli River..

 

Day 07

Kandy – Matale – Dambulla – Sigiriya

(Travel time – about 3 hours, distance – 120 km)

After breakfast continue your journey to Sigiriya. On the way enjoy the lush landscapes of Sri Lanka—rice fields, coconut groves and panoramic mountains. At Dambulla, visit the famous Cave Temples that have incredible Buddhist murals in a system of five caves. Climb on top for a mesmerizing view of the surrounding area. At the evening you will visit an Ayurvedic Spa Center. An ayurvedic physician is there to advise you, and give you the necessary treatments: Enjoy an relaxing massage according to the examination. Then return to hotel and time on leisure.

 

Day 08

Sigiriya

Early morning, visit the famed rock fortress of Sigiriya, an ancient royal abode with stunning frescoes, gardens with natural caves and ruins of the ancient palace at the top. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sigiriya is the most visited site in Sri Lanka. Return to hotel to spend the rest of the day at your leisure. In the afternoon, go on for an (optional) an exciting jeep safari to Minneriya National Park, famous for its elephant population as well as other exotic animals such as crocodiles, water buffalo, deer, lizards, cormorants, pelicans and a wide array of other birds. The park is also interesting for its variety of landscapes that range from panoramic mountains to swamps. The best time to visit the park is from May to November. When your safari is done your driver will transfer you to hotel for overnight.. Extra charge 45 USD per person

 

Day 09

Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa
(Travel time – about 1 hour, distance – 60Km)

Polonnaruwa– Trincomalee
(Travel time – about 2 hours, distance – 100Km)

After breakfast, drive to Trincomalee for your beach stay. On the way you visit Polonnaruwa, a celebrated ancient capital of Sri Lanka from 11th to 13th centuries. Explore the ruins of ancient Hindu temples and royal palaces of this eminent city either on foot or by bike. Don’t miss a chance to visit the incredible Gal Vihara, which houses Buddha statues carved out of granite. You should visit the archeological museum to learn the engrossing details about the kingdom’s subjects who lived almost a thousand years ago. Afterwards arrive at the beach of Trincomalee check in to the hotel and time on leisure.

 

Day 10 - 12

Trincomalee

Relax on the beach The next days you have time on leisure. Relax at the beach or try several kinds of watersports which are offered. Also you can visit nearby Pigeon Island for an unforgettable diving experience. If you like you can also go for whale watching. Sri Lanka is a well-known spot to see blue whales, sperm whales and many dolphins. Price 40 USD per person.

 

Day 13

Trincomalee – Negombo
(Travel time – about 5 hours, distance – 180Km)

After the breakfast drive to Negombo. Stay your last night close to the airport! If you like you can make a last walk on the beach or relax at one of the many pubs and bars which Negombo is famous for.

 

Day 14

Free Day, drive to the airport
(Travel time – about 30 minutes, distance – 15Km)

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. According to your departure flight you will drive to the airport. With many unforgettable memories you will leave the country.

General / Hotel / Payments:

Hotel availability is given at the time of inquiry being processed. We will take every effort to block the rooms in the proposed hotels. However final confirmation of proposed hotels will be subject to availability on receiving your confirmation, followed by timely payment. Full payment should be received at least 14 days prior to arrival for Sri Lanka and 30 days prior to arrival for Maldives.

If the payment is received later, the hotel/s will be subject to availability at the time of receiving payment. In the event a mentioned hotel is not available, a hotel of similar category will be offered and a supplement could be applicable.

However, we will not accept any responsibility in the event of cancellation of hotel due to not receiving of payment from you on time & for having offered an alternative hotel.
The price quoted is valid only for a particular request and the price can change for similar inquiries depending on the hotel occupancies.

Please Note:

  • The rates quoted above are based on the mentioned hotels.
  • The above rates are net and include government taxes (VAT, TDL & NBT) totaling to 15%.
  • These rates are subject to change without prior notice in the event government changes the tax policy, or if the hotels change their rates, or for situations beyond our control.
  • These rates are applicable for tour operators’/travel agents working exclusively with us, in Sri Lanka.
  • All hotel classifications are as per Travelanka Tours classifications.
  • Meal plan will be on booked basis.
  • Breakfast will start from the 2nd day.
  • Half Board will be from arrival day dinner to departure day breakfast.
  • Full Board will be from arrival day lunch to departure day breakfast.
  • Transportation by air-conditioned vehicle from Airport to Airport, as per the applicable itinerary.
  • In an unlikely event of a customer being dissatisfied over anything, it should be brought to our notice immediately for rectification. No post tour complaints will be considered.

Other Conditions:

Optional excursions and additional services could be provided for which we will charge additionally.
Visits to wild life parks, adventure activities, etc will be at client’s own risk.
Safari vehicles (none air-conditioned) available are very basic with basic insurance cover
Payment by credit cards will be subject to 3% bank charges.

Cancellation charges (Sri Lanka):

Within 07 – 00 days – 100% cancellation charge.
Within 14 – 08 days – 75% cancellation charge.
Within 21-15 days – 50% cancellation charge.
If any advance payments are made to any hotels or other suppliers to reserve services, those will be added to the cancellation charges.

Children Policy:

Below 2 Years – On complementary basis.
Age between 2 – 12 – With Extra Bed – Will Pay 50% of adult rate (when sharing room with parents).
Age between 2 – 12 – Without Extra Bed – Will Pay 25% of adult rate (when sharing room with parents).


Hotel Rules & Regulations:

The official check-in time at all hotels will be 12.00 hrs
The official check-out time at all hotels will be 11.00 hrs
Early check- in / late check-out will be subject to availability at the discretion of the hotel’s management. However, a request will be made where necessary.
Cancellation policy will be applicable for any reduction of allocated / blocked rooms, after the release period.

Airport Tax:

Cost of Airport tax is included to the flight ticket. However, this could differ for Charter flights.
Presently rooms are available as per the above itinerary. However, we are not holding any rooms at the moment. Please do not hesitate to revert for any further clarifications for the same.
