Day 01

Colombo – Home Stay -Kalutara 

(Travel time – about 2 hours, distance – 130 km)

Welcome to Sri Lanka and experience the local life! You will be warmly greeted at the Airport from your local guide. From there you will be driven to the west coast of Sri Lanka. Check into your family pension. Together with your hostess you will visit a local market and purchase ingredients for your dinner. Experience the variety of spices and vegetables. In the evening you will join a cooking class. Learn how to cook Rice and Curry which is the main dish in Sri Lanka. Afterwards enjoy a delicious dinner and relax at your pension.

Day 02

Kalutara- Sinharaja rainforest (2 -3 hours hike) 

Local blessing ceremony and exciting after-migration 

(Travel time – about 3 hours, distance – 145 km)

After breakfast, visit a local temple. In a conversation with the Temple Master, you will learn a lot about living Buddhism in Sri Lanka. If you wish, you can also be blessed for your upcoming hiking trip through Sri Lanka’s natural environment. Afterwards continue to the Sinharaja rainforest. The Sinharajaregen Forest is known for its abundant species of endemic plants and animals and is a Unesco world cultural heritage. Here you can check into your luxury lodge and relax in the jungle noise. Late in the evening, you will be able to take a little hike to see the animals of the night. Forget your night vision not !!!!! (Easy difficulty level)

Day 03

Sinharaja rainforest (3 hours walk)

Sri Lanka’s bird life on the trail Early in the morning, make a hike to bird watching. With a little luck you can photograph one of the 22 endemic bird species in the Sinharaja rainforest. Keep an eye out for the photographic highlight of this trip to the Blue Magpie. The hike requires physical conditioning. For protection against leeches you will be equipped with knee jumps. Then relax at your lodge and have the rest of the day’s leisure time. (Medium difficulty level) Optional Make a 2nd trek in the Sinharaja rainforest in the afternoon. The 5 kilometer long parkour takes you past endemic plants and animal species. They come by the stream and experience the biodiversity of the jungle. You climb up to a viewpoint and can take spectacular photos of the surroundings. (Medium difficulty level) (Extra charge 30 Euro per person)

Day 04

Sinharaja – Udawalawe

Exciting elephant safari 

(Travel time – about 2 hours, distance – 90 km)

Following your breakfast you will be taken to the Udawalawe National Park, moving away from the Rain Forest. The Udawalawe National Park is a unique eco-tourism hotspot famed predominantly for its vast elephant population that can be spotted either on the banks of a lake or in the dense jungle. Deers, buffalos, and a good variety of birds can also be seen here. Your driver with the experience of spotting animals hiding amid bushes and trees will help you see flora and fauna that you would otherwise miss. Afterwards, check into your hotel and relax.

Udawalawe–Ella
(Travel time – about 3 hours, distance – 99 km)

Vist an elephant orphanage and a huge waterfall
After breakfast leave to the hill country of Sri Lanka. On the way you will visit the Elephant Transit Home, where rescued elephants are taken care of before they are released back into the wild. Then continue your drive to Ella.
Then visit the Rawana Waterfall. The Rawana Waterfall is one of the highest waterfalls in Sri Lanka. If you like, you can have a refreshing bath there. Arrive at Ella. Check into your hotel and time on leisure.

Day 05

Ella (6 hours hike)

Exciting trekking to Ella Rock, past rice and tea fields After early breakfast get ready for an interesting hike. An ambitious trekking awaits you to the Ella Rock, which offers a fantastic view of the surroundings. On the way, walk through a local village and meet the people living there. Then continue through vegetables and tea plantations until you reach the Ella Rock. There you will enjoy a picnic and you have the opportunity to take unforgettable photos. On the way back, you make a stop at a local tea house and try original Ceylon tea, which is prepared with milk. Arrive at hotel and time on leisure. (Medium difficulty level)

Day 06

Ella (approx. 5 -6 Hour hike)

Bambarakandara Waterfall Trekking and Waterfall Bathing After breakfast, walk to Sri Lanka’s highest waterfall, the Bambarakanda waterfalls. You will pass magnificent view points, picturesque villages and tea plantations. After you have passed the Devil’s staircase, a 3 fork crossroad, you will come to the Lanka Falls, where you will make a picnic and take a swim in the natural pool at the foot of the waterfall. On the way back, you can meet with a variety of animal species such as samba dear or Eagle. Return to hotel and time on leisure.(Medium difficulty)

Day 07

Ella (approx. 3 – 4 Hour hike)

Early in the morning, drive to the “Horton Plains”, a breathtaking plateau with a steppe-like vegetation, located at 2,134 meters above sea level. Demanding hike (about 8 km) to the “World’s End”. Here, a steep slope, which reaches more than 1,000 meters down to the depths. Enjoy the most spectacular panoramic view over the island and in clear weather up to the sea! Afterwards you have a free afternoon to relax in Ella. Enjoy the sunset in one of the many cafes. (Easy difficulty level)

Day 08

Ella– Kitulgala

(Travel time – approx. 4 hours; Distance – 149 Km)

Travel through the tea plantations and visit a tea factory After breakfast at 9.24, take the train from Ella to Nanu Oya. See spectacular views and gorges and come past tea plantations and waterfalls. You will make the train trip in the 2nd class where you have the opportunity to taste local snacks such as vegetables (flake bread with vegetable filling). Arrive at Nanu Oya. Here you will visit a tea plantation and learn about the manufacturing process of the famous Ceylon Tea. See how the tea pickers pick the tea by hand. If you want, you can also learn how the tea is picked. Afterwards continue to Kitulgala where the famous film .. The bridge at Kwai .. was filmed and which today is the best area in Sri Lanka to undertake a spanned rafting tour. Check in to your tree house in the jungle and free time

Day 09

Kitulgala  (2 Hours Byking)

Visit of prehistoric caves and Whitewater rafting on the Kelania River Today is straightened!! There is a visit to the prehistoric cave of Belilena on the program. From the cave, where more than 30000 years of evidence of human presence have been found, one has a delightful view of the surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, enjoy an exciting whitewater rafting trip on the Kelani River. After a brief introduction by your guide, you are already in the rapids (difficulty of about 2 rapids) After this exciting experience return to your tree house and leisure time (easy difficulty)

Day 10

Kitulgala – Kandy

(Travel time – about 3 hours, distance – 120 km)

Botanical gardens and exciting Pujazeremonie in the dental temple After breakfast, drive to Kandy. Kandy is the 2nd largest city in Sri Lanka and at the same time the last kingdom, which was conquered by the British in 1815. In addition to a mediterranean climate, Kandy is home to the Buddha’s canine world-renowned for Buddhists. Just before reaching Kandy you will visit the Peradeniya botanical garden. The Botanical Garden is the largest of its kind in all of Asia. With a relaxing walk, you will discover a variety of greenhouses and tree species such as the largest fig tree in the world with over 1600 square meters. The highlight is the orchid house with over 300 different varieties, which due to the climate itself in a greenhouse. In the evening at 18.30 to the Puja Ceremony, you will visit the world famous sacred dental temple, where a canine Lord Buddha is preserved. This valuable relic attracts many pilgrims every day. Experience the 3 times daily opening of the shrine up close. Accompanied by drumming and singing, you are immersed in the spiritual world of Buddhism.

Day 11

Kandy – Sigiriya

(Travel time – about 3 hours, distance – 90Km)

Sri Lanka’s spices and cave temples After breakfast, drive to Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. Which is known for its monumental buildings and cultural sites. On the way to Sigiriya visit a spice garden and see how famous spices like pepper and vanilla grow and learn everything about the spices of Sri Lanka. Afterwards visit the UNESCO certified Dambulla cave temple which is located on a 150 meter high magma block. After an approximately 30 minute climb, you will experience incredible wall paintings and countless Buddhas sculptured from the rock. From the temple you have a great view of the surroundings and is guaranteed to meet mischievous monkey bands. Then continue to Sigiriya and check in to your hotel.

Day 12

 

Sigiriya – Kalpitiya

(Travel time – about 3 hours, distance – 150 km)

Rock fortress and cloud girl In the morning, before it gets too hot, climb the Sigiriya Rock Fort, Sri Lanka’s most popular UNESCO site. Your guide shows you the gardens with natural caves, the amazing cave paintings on the way up and the ruins of the ancient royal palace on the top. Then continue to the beach to Kalpitiya. Kalpitiya is located on the almost unspoilt northeast coast of Sri Lanka and is a paradise for various water sports such as kite surfing, diving, and snorkeling. Check into your hotel at the beach and leisure.

 

Day 13

Kalpitiya

Excursion to whale watching Early in the morning, an exciting excursion to the dolphin and whale watching (possible from November to April) will see chirping dolphin schools hurry past you and with a bit of luck you even spot a whale. (Alternative boat trip on the lagoon where you can snorkel) Afterwards you can either relax on the beach or try kite surfing, which is offered here in different schools.

Day 14

Kalpitiya – Negombo

(Travel time – about 3 hours, distance – 130 km)

Depending on the time of departure, you can take a last walk on the beach and then drive to Bandaranaike airport. Your adventurous hiking tour through Sri Lanka ends here. With a lot of memories you get back home.

General / Hotel / Payments:

Hotel availability is given at the time of inquiry being processed. We will take every effort to block the rooms in the proposed hotels. However final confirmation of proposed hotels will be subject to availability on receiving your confirmation, followed by timely payment. Full payment should be received at least 14 days prior to arrival for Sri Lanka and 30 days prior to arrival for Maldives.

If the payment is received later, the hotel/s will be subject to availability at the time of receiving payment. In the event a mentioned hotel is not available, a hotel of similar category will be offered and a supplement could be applicable.

However, we will not accept any responsibility in the event of cancellation of hotel due to not receiving of payment from you on time & for having offered an alternative hotel.
The price quoted is valid only for a particular request and the price can change for similar inquiries depending on the hotel occupancies.

Please Note:

  • The rates quoted above are based on the mentioned hotels.
  • The above rates are net and include government taxes (VAT, TDL & NBT) totaling to 15%.
  • These rates are subject to change without prior notice in the event government changes the tax policy, or if the hotels change their rates, or for situations beyond our control.
  • These rates are applicable for tour operators’/travel agents working exclusively with us, in Sri Lanka.

  • Meal plan will be on booked basis.

  • In an unlikely event of a customer being dissatisfied over anything, it should be brought to our notice immediately for rectification. No post tour complaints will be considered.

Optional excursions and additional services could be provided for which we will charge additionally.
Visits to wild life parks, adventure activities, etc will be at client’s own risk.
Safari vehicles (none air-conditioned) available are very basic with basic insurance cover
Payment by credit cards will be subject to 3% bank charges.

Cancellation charges (Sri Lanka):

Within 07 – 00 days – 100% cancellation charge.
Within 14 – 08 days – 75% cancellation charge.
Within 21-15 days – 50% cancellation charge.
If any advance payments are made to any hotels or other suppliers to reserve services, those will be added to the cancellation charges.

Children Policy:

Below 2 Years – On complementary basis.
Age between 2 – 12 – With Extra Bed – Will Pay 50% of adult rate (when sharing room with parents).
Age between 2 – 12 – Without Extra Bed – Will Pay 25% of adult rate (when sharing room with parents).

The official check-in time at all hotels will be 12.00 hrs
The official check-out time at all hotels will be 11.00 hrs
Early check- in / late check-out will be subject to availability at the discretion of the hotel’s management. However, a request will be made where necessary.
Cancellation policy will be applicable for any reduction of allocated / blocked rooms, after the release period.

Airport Tax:

Cost of Airport tax is included to the flight ticket. However, this could differ for Charter flights.
Presently rooms are available as per the above itinerary. However, we are not holding any rooms at the moment. Please do not hesitate to revert for any further clarifications for the same.
